HE the High Commissioner Meets with Officials of Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry

HE The High Commissioner had a meeting with following  official of Cape  Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) during  his visit to Cape Town

      ·         Ms. Janine Myburgh - President and Chairperson

                Mr. Jonathan Jacobs - Deputy President

      ·         Mr. Sid Peimer - Executive Director

      ·         Ms. Mary Jean Thomas - Business Information Officer

 

During the meeting ,Ms Janine Myburgh, President and Chairperson of CCCI  mentioned that the Cape chamber is willing to have a long lasting relationship with Sri Lankan trade Chambers and requested HE the High Commissioner  to initiate the process. Further, they expressed their willingness to visit Sri Lanka with a trade delegation and requested to arrange a visit to meet prospective businessmen who are interested in exporting products such as bottled coconut and king coconut water, packet tea , Cinnamon , Gem and Jewellery, Porcelain dinner sets etc  to South Africa. The chamber is also in return looking for buyers in Sri Lanka for South African Wines and fruits including grapes.

HE the High Commissioner agreed to communicate with the Chambers in Sri Lanka and the EDB to facilitate a visit for business community in Cape Town. Finally at the request by the High Commissioner, Ms. Janine also informed that they are willing to provide all the assistance if a Sri Lankan trade delegation wishes to visit Cape Town at any time.
