Sri Lanka Foods, Tea and Tourism Showcases at Brooklyn Mall in Pretoria

The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Pretoria, South Africa showcased Sri Lanka Foods, Tea and Tourism in Brooklyn Mall on 16th and 17th November 2023 under “Taste of Sri Lanka”.

Sri Lanka stall at the Brooklyn Mall inaugurated on 16 th November 2023 by H.E. Prof. Gamini Gunawardena with the participation of members of the diplomatic community in Pretoria and distinguished guests from the Sri Lanka community in South Africa.

The event was designed and showcased Sri Lanka’s tourism, tea, foods and handicrafts to promote Sri Lanka as a travel destination. Sri Lankan traditional delicacies, including Kiribath, Mung Kavum, Kokis, Kottu, Roti, and Cutlets, were served with hot cups of ‘Ceylon tea’ to visitors who came to the stall. Basilar Tea facilitated the promotion of Pure Ceylon Tea for the event. The two-day event attracted more than 1,000 visitors, and all the visitors were able to taste the delicious food and freshly brewed Ceylon tea and inquire about Sri Lanka as a travel destination.

Further leaflets and booklets about tea and tourism were disseminated among the visitors with the view to promote Sri Lanka as an attractive tourist destination for South Arica tourists and about the Pure Ceylon Tea.
